Dublin, Ireland

I arrived in Ireland on Saturday June 11 around 9:30am. There were 5 girls including me on the plane so we waited for each other. We arrived at the apartment and my roommate was already here. We unpacked for a bit and then the 6 of us went to get some essentials for our apartments. The rest of the day went to unpacking and getting settled. In the evening some girls went to a couple of pubs, but I was in the group that wanted dinner... They have a TGIF here and that was the only thing open when we came around to eating. Equivalent of $20 USD for fish sticks and french fries. WTF!?! Whatever it was the first day and we were starving.

Sunday I woke up and another roommate and I went shopping for real food to start the week off. By the time we got back we had time for a quick lunch and then it was off to the group orientation. After the orientation we had a viking splash tour... That was interesting. The guide made us roar at unsuspecting tourists walking the streets while some of us wore viking hats (I wasn't fortunate enough to get it). The boat/bus took us around the city and then into the basin. I was hoping it would go in the river but sadly it did not. Once the tour was over we went to eat at the Arlington Hotel. It was a dinner show. They had Irish music and Irish dancing. The Irish dancing was amazing.

Monday (today) I started my internship. The place is this old Georgian building, the only downside is that its still under a lot of construction. My supervisors and boss were really nice, and I love that one of the other girls here is working there too. We walked together and at lunch discovered a great mall that even had a forever21! They didn't have us do anything too involved the first day, but they seem very nice and very flexible. I am very excited to see what else is in store. I have taken some pictures, but havent been able to post just yet, so I will be posting those soon.
